A - "To"
The Spanish preposition "a" which means "to" is very useful in constructing sentences. While it can be used in to sentences as a preposition of time or a preposition of geographical location, we will first introduce it to you as a preposition of destination. For example if your destination was the store, you would say "Voy a la tienda" (I am going to the store).
You should remember one rule when using 'a'. When it is used before a singular masculine noun you need to combine 'a + el' to get 'al'. For example, "Voy al cine" (I am going to the movie theater). You do not do the same thing with a feminine noun and you do not do this with plural nouns.
