"Snowflake"

In his lifetime Copito has had many visitors.    There have been books written about him and once the famous Spanish artist, Salvador Dali brought him an enormous wedding cake as a present.  In March 1967 he was on the cover of National Geographic and in 1992 he was chosen as the symbol of the summer Olympic games which were held in Barcelona.  Snowflake had become one of the most famous gorillas of all time. 

Unfortunately as a result of his advanced age and his illness Snowflake died peacefully in his sleep on November 24, 2003.  It was a great day of mourning for Spain, and for everyone who was fortunate to have visited Snowflake.
